(No flash? Go to YouTube)
For the musicvideo “That Man” by the Dutch vintage-singer Caro Emerald director Maikel van der Laken invited post-production company Planet X FX to create all the animations. Planet X FX on their turn asked VetteLetters to design all the visuals and typography for the video.
Plotline is simple Caro Emerald is looking and searching for “That Man”. The all video is inspired by title sequences and posters from the ’50 and ’60.
In the video we used a lot of direct and indirect links to title sequences and posters from back in the days. For instance all typefaces are based on the typografie Saul Bass (actually his typedesigner Art Goodman) used in his designs for the posters of Vertigo, The Human Factor, The Man wih the Golden Arm and Bonjour Tristesse.
